Foundry Plek and Foundry Flek are each based on the same dot matrix grid system. This allows the designer to experiment with overlays, and to mix the weights producing varying effects; with the centre of the underlying dot matrices remain in the same position. Foundry Plek and Foundry Flek font families each consist of four weights: light, regular, medium and bold – plus a special font containing a selection of dot patterns enabling designers to extend the grid, both vertically and horizontally. Foundry Flek has an integral background dot matrix grid. Foundry Plek used conventionally works well as a serious correspondence font. With these fonts, a whole new graphic language can be created.
